Stephanie, who is not only a designer but also a professor and researcher, is known for her work rooted in intuition and experimentation, creating bold, visionary design solutions with a candid simplicity. Have a look at her website or Instagram. She shared that the inspiration behind the print began with a reflection on the concept of time — and how moments that feel unproductive can still hold value. As she put it, the idea came to her during a period of so-called "wasted time", prompting the question: Was it really wasted?
From that came the phrase featured on the t-shirt: Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time. While time is often measured in tangible ways — daylight, clocks, schedules — Stephanie wanted to express its more abstract, fluid nature. This led to the creation of the melting, distorted clock graphic printed on the back of the t-shirt — a visual reminder that time isn't always linear or structured.
In a world that constantly demands productivity, this piece encourages the wearer to pause and embrace the present. To enjoy what you’re doing now — regardless of external pressures. In short, to find joy in a timeless moment — and, now, in a timeless t-shirt.
We’re proud to bring Stephanie’s vision to life on one of our most recognisable staples: our premium-quality t-shirt, made in Portugal from 100% organic cotton. It’s a piece that honours both collaboration and craft — and one that’s designed to last.
